If you’ll be using your projector and screen in multiple locations, you don’t need it permanently installed in one place, so now you would think about to find a screen that is portable. If you take a look at some online shopping sites, there’s tripod screen, and there’s tripod screen, and there’s tripod screen…
Tripod projection screen is indeed a wonderful product, it’s retractable and stable with 3 simple aluminum legs. It’s also manual so won’t be so expensive. I would put one in our office area so we can have meetings in different rooms. But I don’t think it’s very convenient for long distance travels. Tripod screen doesn’t have a cover to place in, it might get damaged if you just put it in the back of your van, and tour all over the place. Reference price $25~$50
Then there’s floor rising screen. It has a sturdy case to protect the screen from crashing, it’s almost indestructible. The casing itself is the stand, you just need to unlock it, and pull the screen up. It can be stopped at any height you need. It’s tough so you can definitely carry it when travel. Reference price $75~$120
Tripod screen and floor rising screen are both not very large, they can be suitable for conference rooms, or small-scale outdoor activities. When the screen is for drive-in movies or concerts, they are not large enough. We have fast fold screen to solve this problem. It consists with 3232mm (or 6464mm) dismountable aluminum stands, and a large foldable soft screen fabric up to 300 inches. It might take you a little bit of time to assemble, so save some time to prepare. Rear projection material is also commonly used with this screen. Reference price $150~$800
What if you only need a screen for fun? there is a screen that almost doesn’t exist and you can put it in your bag for camping like a cloth. It’s pretty much a fast fold screen without stands, but the black border is double-line stitched and with hole punched so it can be easily to hang up at any places you want. Reference price $10~$20
